In 2014 the city adopted a uniform process for evaluating grant requests from non-profit organizations seeking city financial support. In October of each year, the City releases a request for proposals and application. Organizations have about a month to submit proposals for the next fiscal year beginning July 1.
All grant requests are reviewed by a Community Agency Allocation Committee, appointed by the Mayor and City Council. The committee includes nine citizens and is assisted by members of the city staff. The committee makes recommendations to the City Manager, who considers these recommendations for inclusion in the proposed annual budget to the Mayor and City Council, which have the final decision.
FY 2019-20 Community Agency Funding
The City is currently accepting proposals for program and project funding for the fiscal year beginning July 1, 2019 through June 30, 2020. Your organization will need to complete an application using the online portal. Please refer to the Request for Proposals (RFP) for additional information and eligibility criteria. The "Getting Started Guide" provides instructions for registering an account to submit an application.

Community Agency Funding Application Workshops
The City will hold two workshops in October to review the application process and important dates, as well as answer any questions that applicants may have.
Orientation Workshop and Public Hearing for the Consolidated Plan
Wednesday, October 10, 2018, 2:00 p.m.

City staff will provide information about this year’s application process including instruction on the new online application portal. The Community Development Department will also hold a public hearing to obtain views on community development and housing needs for the program year beginning July 1, 2019 and ending June 30, 2020. An assessment of the prior and current program year will be provided.
