BCBS and COBRA Participants

SaversAdmin is now handling our BCBS insurance and COBRA dental premium payments. 

You should have received a letter from SaversAdmin regarding remitting payment for your BCBS and/or COBRA Dental premiums.

Health Risk Assessment UPDATE Extended Deadline

In order to qualify for the $50/month discount on your Blue Cross Blue Shield NC insurance premiums, City Retirees who participated in Biometric Screening during January 2017 must complete your Health Risk Assessment (HRA) between March 1, 2017 and FRIDAY, APRIL 7, 2017 at 11:59:59 p.m.. Results from your Biometric Screening have been automatically downloaded into your HRA on the screens requesting your height, weight, BMI, blood pressure, blood sugar, total cholesterol, LDL cholesterol, HDL cholesterol and triglycerides.

COBRA Participants

Note: COBRA is only offered at the time of retirement for a period of 18 months.

SaversAdmin is now handling our COBRA dental premium payments. 

You should have received a letter from SaversAdmin regarding remitting payment for your COBRA Dental premiums. The original letter send along with coupons for payment contained an error. Please only remit $26.52 for individual coverage or $79.56 for family coverage. For questions, please contact SaversAdmin at 1-336-837-6712 

Ameritas is the provider of our COBRA dental insurance. If you have questions about coverage, please call Ameritas at 1-800-487-5553.


The Mobile Mammogram Clinic was held January 25, 26, and 27. Please check back for future clinic dates.


Biometric Screening for 2017 was held in January. Please call Employee Medical at 336-727-2305 if you have questions.

  • 11/18/2016 UPDATE:
    • Savers Administration will administer our premium reimbursement program effective January 1, 2017. For those retirees who opt-out of our Medicare Advantage Program and enroll in their own supplement plan, the City will reimburse the cost of your Medicare Supplement up to the cost of our plan which is $165.58 for 2017. Please use the following form to receive your premium reimbursement.

    • Human Resources will mail out Aetna Enrollment Forms to those Retirees and Spouses turning 65 in the near future. If you do not receive your form or need a new one, please call Tameshia Branch at 336-747-6811.
  • 02/13/2016 UPDATE:
    • It has been brought to our attention that the Vendor used to print the Aetna Medicare ID cards had a system update on December 13th which caused the incorrect Rx Bin number to print on member ID cards. Aetna is in the process of identifying any member that had an ID card printed between the dates of December 13th and December 23rd and will be reissuing them a corrected ID card. There is no impact to member access or claims payment. Members can still use their current ID card.

Online Enrollment

  • My dependents have been on my health insurance in the past. Do I still need to send documentation certifying they are my dependents?
    • NO, if your dependents have been on our insurance previously, you do not have to re-submit proof / certification.

Health Risk Assessment

  • To receive the $50 wellness discount on your 2016 health insurance premiums, you must have completed the online health risk assessment by March 31, 2016.
  • Go to and log in:
    • If you do not have a log in, you must register for member services. You will need your BCBSNC insurance card to do so.
    • If you forgot your user name or password, call the customer service number on the back of your insurance card.
  • After logging in, click on WELLNESS at the top and then on HEALTH ASSESSMENT.
  • The assessment takes about 20 minutes to complete.

How to take online Wellness classes through BCBSNC
City employees can fulfill their wellness class requirement by participating in online wellness programs offered by Blue Cross Blue Shield of North Carolina.

  • Type or into your web browser 
  • If this is your first login, you must register for Blue Connect. You will need the Subscriber ID (which you can find on your insurance card), date of birth, and zip code. If you have any issues please contact BCBSNC customer service. Their number is located on the back of your insurance card.
  • Click on the "Wellness" tab on the top right of the page
  • Click on "Wellness Activities" tab on the left
