The Forsyth County Historic Resources Commission is a quasi-judicial commission that reviews major projects in the Local Historic and Historic Overlay Districts along with the Local Historic Landmarks. The Commission also makes recommendations to the elected bodies regarding National Register nominations, Landmark designations, and various other historic issues and determinations. Voluntary Commission members serve a maximum of two consecutive four-year terms. Serving on the HRC can offer you an opportunity to understand how your local government works and allow you to make a direct contribution to protecting and preservation the historic resources.
