UDO (Unified Development Ordinances)

The Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Unified Development Ordinances (UDO) are the compilation of regulations that govern land use, which include the Zoning Ordinance, the Environmental Ordinance, and the Subdivision Ordinance/Regulations.

The UDO is available as a searchable document on the Municipal Code Corporation web site. To access the Permitted Use Table, navigate to Chapter B, Article II, Section 2-4.

Note: Recent amendments to the UDO may or may not be reflected in the code currently available online. UDO amendments which were heard or are soon to be heard by the Planning Board can be found in the table below.

You may also download a complete copy of the UDO [pdf/10.5MB/1064p]. NOTE: This is a very large file.

If you have questions or need further assistance, feel free to call the Land Use Administration team at (336) 747-7064.
