Recreation and Parks provide activities for people of all ages through recreation centers, parks, greenways, pools, historical sites, golf courses, and other facilities. - Reading Workshop! On Saturday, March 2, 2019, from 9:00 a.m. - noon, W.R. Anderson, Jr. Community Center will host their Reading Workshop spearheaded by Dr. Vernon Ross & Sr. Recreation Center Supervisor, Bryant McCorkle. Each participant will go home with a book of their choice and a folder that will include an assessment that will implement good reading instruction to determine each student's baseline performance. Kids can sign up the day of onsite!

- Julius Reese, general manager of Winston Lake Golf Course, has won the 2018 Helping Hands award from the Mayor's Council for Persons with Disabilities. He won for his efforts in teaching golf to children in the WSFCS Exceptional Children program.
