Special Olympics Forsyth County will hold its first-ever fund-raising chili cook-off on Friday, Jan. 27, from 6 to 9 p.m. at Miller Park Recreation Center, 400 Leisure Lane, Winston-Salem. In addition to chili, there will be free games and music.
Attendees will be able to sample chilies competing for first-, second- and third-place trophies. The first 50 attendees will receive a free souvenir towel. Admission is $10 for adults, $5 for ages 10 and under, and $7 for Special Olympics athletes. Admission comes with five sample tasting tickets, plus salad, corn bread, a drink and dessert.
Additional sample tasting tickets will be available for $2 each. Tickets will be available at the door or can be purchased in advance during business hours at the Black-Phillips- Smith Government Center, 2301 N. Patterson Ave., Winston-Salem.
Chili chefs who would like to compete must register by noon on Wednesday, Jan. 25. The entry fee is $25. To enter or for more information contact Leanne Pressley at 336-727-2423 or send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org.
