Recreation & Parks - Oct. 6, 2017

The Winston-Salem Recreation and Parks Department is holding its second annual "Trail of Treats," a Halloween-themed community resource fair for elementary-age children and their families, on Friday, Oct. 13, at Bolton Park, 1590 Bolton St. Admission is free.

From 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., more than 40 information booths operated by non-profits, community and youth organizations and county agencies will be set up in the park for kids to participate in a game or other activity and win a treat or prize. While the kids are enjoying the activities, their parents or caregivers can learn about resources in the community for families with children, such as school nutrition programs, scouts and after-school programs. Children are encouraged to come in their Halloween costumes.

There will also be a pumpkin patch and bingo with kid-themed prizes under the shelter. Food trucks will be set up around the park. For more information contact Leah Friend at 336-734-1215 or leahf@cityofws.org.
