Walk & Roll Winston-Salem
Walk & Roll Winston-Salem, formerly known as Cycling Sunday, is a special event for cyclists of all ages and abilities, encouraging people to bike, walk and skate in downtown Winston-Salem on a Sunday afternoon when certain streets are closed to motorized vehicles. The event is sponsored by the City of Winston-Salem Bicycle and Pedestrian Program, the Forsyth County Department of Public Health, with sponsorship and support from other community organizations.
Begun in October, 2009 with a single event, Cycling Sunday has attracted hundreds of cyclists on all types of bicycles as well as walkers, skateboarders, and in-line skaters. More recently, exhibitors, vendors, and family-friendly activities have been added to the event. Walk & Roll Winston-Salem takes place annually during National Bike Month in May.
