The Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Utilities Division's primary responsibility is to collect, treat, and distribute water, waste water, and solid waste.
News and Updates
The Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Utilities Division is requesting comments on proposed new water and wastewater system development fees that would replace the current schedule of special privilege and main line capital charges for developers and new customers. The proposed fees do not affect the rates for water and sewer service.
The proposed fees are based on an analysis of Utilities Division costs, as required under a new state law, N.C. General Statute 162A Article 8. The analysis and the proposed fees were developed by Raftelis Financial Consultants Inc., and are contained in the report posted on this page. (View system development fee document [pdf/10p])
Citizens should read the report and then submit comments to Carolyn Smith, carolyns@cityofws.org, and place "System Development Fee Comments" in the subject line of the email. Comments may also be made by calling CityLink at 311 or 727-8000. Comments will be accepted through May 7, 2018.
