Dear Citizens of the East Ward and Northeast Ward,

Duke Energy will have contractors (Asplundh) clearing tress away from power lines in eastern Winston-Salem beginning in April 2009 and into June 2009. They will be clearing one of the circuits that feeds from their Guthrie Substation. This work is required for safety and reliability.

Substation is located on Old Linville Road approximately one half mile west of Business I-40. Circuit runs from substation westerly along Old Linville Road to its intersection with Reidsville Road (Hwy 158) then northeasterly along Reidsville Road (Hwy 158) to just past Old Belews Creek Road. Circuit also includes various streets and major roads which are as follows:

Wildlife Road, Grandy Street, Grover Street, Lakeland Avenue, Tamra Lane, Hubbard Road, Gaither Road, State Hwy 2398, Robertson Drive, Rickard Drive, Stanley Avenue, Angel Drive, Old Belews Creek Road, Brevard Street, Palace Avenue, Pee Wee Court, Tranquil Avenue, Largo Drive, Lindo Court, Paradise Road, Longleaf Drive, Beeson Dairy Road, Diamond Hill Road, Sandy Hill Road, Barnwell Drive, Forest Valley Drive, Silver Halice Drive, San Carlos Road, Laree Drive, Chelmsford Drive, Parrish Road, Shaftsbury Lane and Kittering Lane.

The contractors will leave door hangers for affected property owners 3 to 5 business days before doing work on their property. More information can be found on their website at the link below.
