Derwick Paige, Deputy City Manager
Derwick received a B.S. degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a M.P.A. from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. He joined the city in 1984 as a public safety officer. He also has served as a planner, minority and women business enterprise coordinator, budget analyst, special development administrator, director of enterprise community development, development director, and community and economic development director.
As deputy city manager, Derwick is responsible for overseeing the following departments: city secretary, development/mwbe, housing development, human relations, inspections, neighborhood services, real estate, and recreation and parks.
Derwick is a member of the International City/County Management Association (ICMA) where he holds the designation of credentialed manager and served on the conference planning committee. He currently serves on the Weed and Seed Advisory Board, Northwest Piedmont Development Corporation Executive Board, Northwest Piedmont Workforce Development Board, and United Way Board of Directors.
