Martha Wheelock, Assistant City Manager

Martha received a B.S. degree in Accounting from Christopher Newport College in Newport News, Virginia and a M.P.A. from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. She joined the city in 1999 as business office supervisor for the LJVM coliseum complex and M.C. Benton Jr. convention and civic center. In 2004, Martha became the city’s deputy financial officer and worked primarily with the revenue, purchasing, and internal audit divisions of financial management services.
Martha is responsible for overseeing the coliseum complex, contact center, convention center, fleet services, human resources, information systems, marketing and communications, and property maintenance. Martha also manages reporting and monitoring of the city’s strategic plan and capital projects.
Martha is active on the Stewardship Committee at Mount Tabor United Methodist Church and serves as treasurer for the Forsyth County Broncos, a volunteer organization devoted to providing Pop Warner football and cheer opportunities for youth aged 5-15.
