MWBE Certification

Due to the pending Statewide Uniform Certification Program (SWUC) the City of Winston-Salem is no longer certifying businesses as either Minority or Women-owned through its M/WBE Program office.

All businesses seeking certification are directed to the State's Historically Underutilized Businesses (HUB) Program.  The City will accept this certification for participation on MWBE projects.  Please follow the instructions there for certifying.  If you are already certified with the City your certification will remain in effect until the state's program begins.

The Certification process may be completed on line via the State's Vendor Link program.

To qualify as an M/WBE business, 51% or more of the company must be owned and controlled by a member of a minority group.  For purposes of this definition, minority groups are Black Americans, Hispanic Americans, Pacific Rim Asian Americans, American Indians, and Women.
