Old Lexington Road Widening

This project addresses several safety concerns that currently exist along Old Lexington Road between Aereole Street and Sprague Street. The safety concerns include lack of a center lane for left turning vehicles, sight distance obstruction caused by a wall at the intersection of Devonshire Street and Old Lexington Road, and accidents associated with the tight turn radii at the intersection of Sprague Street and Old Lexington Road.

Included in this project is the addition of a lane along the east side of Old Lexington Road from Aereole Street to Sprague Street. Also included in this project is the addition of sidewalk along the east side and replacement of the existing culvert. In order to replace the culvert, a detour will be in place throughout the duration of the project.

Work will begin on August 25, 2008 and is anticipated to be completed by the end of June 2009.
