Robinhood Road Widening
This project provides for the installation of an additional turn-lane on Robinhood Road between Huntingreen Lane and Norman Road adjacent to Leinbach Park. This project also provides for the construction of an additional turn-lane at Sally Kirk - Norman Road, which will enable motorists to make both left and right turn movements at the intersection of Robinhood Road and Norman Road. A new sidewalk will also be constructed to connect pedestrians from Robinhood Road to the sidewalk along Sally Kirk Road entering the park. Sidewalk that will be removed on Robinhood Road will be replaced with new sidewalk and a retaining wall will be relocated in order to make the sidewalk more accommodating and safer for pedestrians.
This project will improve vehicular traffic flow and address safety concerns for both motorists and pedestrians traveling though this area. In order to accommodate the installation of these improvements, a number of trees within the project limits will initially need to be removed. However, a landscape plan provides for this area to be re-vegetated and a tree buffer between the road and the park reestablished.

As part of the construction project, the existing overhead utilities will be relocated underground, which will improve the aesthetics of the park entrance. There should be minimal impact on park recreational opportunities during construction. The total length of the project is approximately .2 miles.
Construction began in July 2008 and is anticipated to be completed by November 2008.
