Field Operations

This program provides for all field-related engineering services.

These services include:

• the review of design plans for city projects developed by Engineering Design Operations and private engineering firms
• the administration of construction contracts for projects being constructed by contractors working for the city (streets, utilities, bridges, buildings, and other infrastructure), including developing estimates for payments to contractors
• quality control inspections of street and utility work performed by contractors working for developers (to ensure that all work is being constructed to city standards)
• survey work required for city projects and other city departments

This program interacts extensively with individuals impacted by construction projects within the city and throughout Forsyth County and helps ensure that work is performed in a cost efficient and quality manner with minimal impact on the public.
