Plan Review Requirements and Checklists

Contractors wishing to install or upfit any of the fire protection systems listed below must submit plans to the Winston-Salem Fire Department and receive approval prior to commencing work.  Each link below lists specific requirements for the respective type of work.  Most of the links also include interactive checklists at the bottom of the list of requirements contained therein.

NOTE TO FIRE SPRINKLER SYSTEM CONTRACTORS:  The
Winston-Salem Fire Department now allows an abbreviated submittal for all work classified as a "small job."  Work which is not defined as such must meet the full submittal requirements listed below.  In order to take advantage of the reduced submittal requirements, click on the link for Sprinkler Requirements/"Small Jobs".
