Fire Station Five is home to Engine Company Five and Truck Company Two. Station Five is located in District Two. Station Five is a single story, two-bay station and was placed into service in 1974. Station Five is responsible for maintaining and testing the breathing apparatus used by the entire department. In addition, they conduct annual “fit testing” for all fire department personnel. Fire Station Five is assigned 9 personnel each shift. Fire Station Five also houses a Cascade “Air Filling Station” to refill SCBA bottles for companies in the department.
Truck Company Two is assigned the rescue specialty of Trench Collapse Rescue in the City.
Station Five responds in the south side of the city that includes a wide variety of residential and commercial occupancies to include areas of Clemmonsville Road, Old Lexington Road, South Main Street, Highway 52, and Interstate 40.
