Code Enforcement

Consolidated enforcement of local ordinances relating to nuisance violations.

Housing - Enforcement of the housing code to protect public health, safety, and general welfare through the remedy or removal of conditions that render residential structures unfit for human habitation. Particular emphasis has been placed on identifying dilapidated vacant unsecured structures and keeping them secured or having them demolished.


Environmental - Enforcement of the sanitation code relating to weeded lots, shrubbery, solid waste in yards and curbside trash. It also includes rodent control in the storm drainage system, sanitary sewers (manholes), and along creek beds.

  • Animal & Fowl - Enforcement of the sanitation code concerning the maintenance and the keeping of animals, shelter and fencing, prohibited practices, and sanitary handling and disposal of manure.

    Abandoned Vehicle - Enforcement of the abandoned vehicle code relating to the identification and removal of abandoned vehicles on city streets and private property.
