Ultimately, it is the citizen who matters. Information technology by itself is at best interesting. Combine it with city employees who know their business and care about people, and it becomes a powerful tool that improves our community. This is the job of the Information Systems department.

Under the direction of City Council and the City Manager, we continue to invest in information technology to improve quality of services while reducing cost of delivery. Today, the City of Winston-Salem is nationally recognized as a leader in automating internal processes and web enabling services that are available 24 hours per day.
