9-11 Public Safety Procession and Ceremony

City officials and local fire and law enforcement agencies will hold a public safety procession and ceremony next week in downtown Winston-Salem to honor the service of all public safety personnel and mark the sixth anniversary of the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001.
The procession will begin at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 11, at Fourth and Spring streets, proceed east on Fourth Street and turn south on Liberty Street. It will end at Corpening Plaza, where a ceremony will be held at 10 a.m. Corpening Plaza in on First Street, between Liberty and Cherry streets.
Participants include Mayor Allen Joines, Council Member Vivian H. Burke, City Manager Lee Garrity, Police Chief Pat Norris, Fire Chief John Gist, Deputy Fire Chief John Lucas, the Winston-Salem Fire Department, the Winston-Salem Police Department, the Kernersville, Lewisville and Forsyth County fire departments, the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Department, the Forsyth County Emergency Medical Service, and the N.C. Highway Patrol and the American Red Cross.
