The Human Relations Department will sponsor a town hall meeting Oct. 22 to discuss lessons to be learned from the Jena Six case in Louisiana and identify local issues that could lead to the same level of racial tension as that at Jena High School.
Participants will include high school and college students and adults who traveled to Louisiana for the Jena Six protests as well as representatives of the NAACP and the Ministers Conference of Winston-Salem and Vicinity.
"Jena Six: Reflections on Lessons Learned," will be held at 6:30 p.m. in the Public Meeting Room (Room 530) of the Stuart Municipal Building, 100 E. First Street. For more information, call the Human Relations Department at 727-2429.
