Utilities Contractor to Maintain Water Valves

The Utilities Division has hired Wachs Utility Services to test the water valves in the water distribution system, primarily in the downtown area. The work will begin Tuesday, Aug. 14, and is scheduled to be completed by Sept. 12.

The contractor will exercise each valve for maintenance by closing it and immediately reopening it. The work could result in a brief interruption of service. Customers could also experience discolored or cloudy water.

The majority of the work will be in the downtown area and could affect downtown businesses during working hours.
