West End Utility Project Update

Construction on Jersey Avenue, between Brookstown Avenue and Clover Street, is completed and the street is open to traffic.

Construction on the block of West End Boulevard between First and Forsyth streets is scheduled to be completed Tuesday, December 11. On Wednesday, December 12, construction will begin on the block of West End Boulevard between Forsyth and Glade streets. Detours will be posted. Construction should last approximately four weeks.
Also next week, crews will be making adjustments to the water lines at the following locations:

• Summit Street at Manly Street;
• Summit Street at Jersey Avenue;
• 6th Street between Summit and Broad streets; and
• 5th Street at Summit Street.

Each closure should last one day. Detours will be posted

The Utilities Division is replacing aging water and sewer lines in most of the West End neighborhood. Work is expected to last through July 2008.
