West Salem Utility Project Update

Construction will begin on Monday, Aug. 18 on Spaugh Street between Franklin and Wachovia streets. Work is expected to take three weeks.

Construction on Apple Street between Granville and Cotton streets will be completed on Tuesday, Aug. 19. On Wednesday, construction will begin on Albert Street between Green and Cotton streets. Work is expected to take three weeks.

Detours will be posted for all closed streets.

Construction on Franklin Street between Beaumont and Spaugh streets is completed and the street is open to traffic. Construction on Cotton Street between Green and Apple streets will be completed and the street reopened to traffic by Wednesday, Aug. 20.

The Utilities Division is replacing aging water and sewer lines in part of the West Salem neighborhood. Work is expected to last through July 2009.
