Vigil to Spotlight Domestic Violence

Mayor Allen Joines is urging city residents to support a vigil to remember the victims of domestic violence, scheduled for 10:30 a.m. to noon on Saturday, March 20, at Grace Court Park, 931 W. Fourth St.

The vigil is being organized by Vigils for Healing and the Beautifully Brave Campaign. Survivors of domestic violence will speak, the Christian duet "In His Name" will perform, and resources will be available for those affected by domestic violence.

"Domestic violence is a hidden scourge in all communities," Joines said. "I hope this vigil will help bring light to the issue and provide hope for those in our city who are victims of domestic violence."
