Bear Incident of July 10-13, 2009

In an effort to provide as much information as possible to our citizens, we are providing an overview of the events that led to the shooting of a bear on July 13, 2009. This overview is based on the internal administrative investigation of the incident, which is normal procedure when an officer discharges his/her weapon. Hopefully this information will provide a more complete and accurate picture of what transpired.
