The officers assigned to these Teams work in different Divisions in the Department, with regularly assigned duties, but serve in these Special Teams when the need arises. The officers are specially trained to handle bomb or negotiation situations and receive advanced training as needed. At present, the Department has a Bomb Disposal Team, which handles the disposal of explosive devices, and Crisis Negotiation Team, which negotiates the release of hostages and barricaded locations. |
