Property Maintenance

The Property Maintenance Department maintains and repairs approximately 400 city-owned buildings and facilities, providing effective and efficient preventative and maintenance services with a focus on responsiveness, quality workmanship, and cost effectiveness.

Service Areas
The Property Maintenance Department supports the City of Winston-Salem employees only, who need service on city-owned buildings or facilities.

The Building Maintenance staff handles any carpentry, electrical, plumbing and roofing needs.  The staff performs periodic maintenance on all equipment, furniture, and fixtures. They determine when potential costs may be prohibitive and when recommendations for replacement should be made.

The HVAC staff support all heating, ventilating, and air conditioning needs, including installations, maintenance, repairs, system inspections, and manufacturer-recommended preventative maintenance.

Custodial Services is responsible for providing custodial services to city facilities so that employees and visitors have a clean and comfortable environment.
