Earth Touch
Earth Touch is a horticultural program designed to make gardening accessible, fun, and educational for people who live in low income areas of the City including nursing and group homes. Through Earth Touch, participants enjoy a physical, cooperative social activity, and gain an appreciation for the natural world.
Lea Nading, a registered Horticultural Therapist, delivers gardening and nature activities to more than twenty sites throughout the year. In addition, she makes special presentations to community groups. Demand for this program is such that the program has to operate on a rotational basis. If the program cannot be scheduled for a particular site, the next in line will move ahead to keep the program on track.
Anyone is welcome to attend any program site as a participant or volunteer, please call Ann Haynes for more information at 727-2505.
