Special Populations Programs

Aquabilities
Aquabilities is a program that teaches youth and adults with disabilities how to move, swim, and play in the water. There is also a water aerobics class that is offered. The program will operate during the month of July, 2006 - Mon., Wed., Thu. at 6:00 pm at Reynolds Park Pool. For more information call Ann Haynes at 727-2315.

Community Reintegration
Persons with disabilities are referred to this one-on-one program of reentry to recreational and leisure activities. Program goals focus on leisure education, independent participation and prevention of social isolation. Call 727-2505 for referral information. 

Mall Walk
The Mall Walk indoor walking program at Hanes Mall is open to anyone 18 years and older. Walkers are encouraged to record their distance to receive incentive awards. Mall Walk staff record and accumulate each walker's distance, lead the awards program and are available for blood pressure monitoring and questions on Tuesdays and Fridays, 8:30 am - 10:30 am in the mall. Outdoor Activities for Adults with Disabilities
Outdoor Adventures is a recreation program for adults with disabilities. Participants plan four adventures each year, activities include camping, fishing, and exploring. Fees are based on the activity. For more information call Ann Haynes at 727-2315.

Super Tuesday
Super Tuesday, at Covenant Presbyterian Church, offers seniors a chance to gather for fun, fellowship, indoor/outdoor games, guest speakers, entertainment and refreshments. Super Tuesday is held the third Tuesday of the month at Covenant Presbyterian Church, 3627 Konnoak Drive. For more information call Edith Bailey at 727-2325.
