COMMINGLED (C0-Mixed) PRODUCTS

(Aluminum, Steel, Glass, Plastic)

Place aluminum, steel, glass, and plastic products together inside your recycling bin and keep separated from paper products. (Paper products must be placed into a second bin or a brown paper bag). Do not use any plastic bags (which cause contamination of recyclables) to collect commingled (mixed) products.

Aluminum Can ALUMINUM BEVERAGE CANS
  • Rinse.
  • NO aluminum foil, pie tins, or scraps.
Glass Bottles GLASS BOTTLES AND JARS (clear, green, and brown)
  • Remove caps/lids and discard.
  • Rinse containers.
  • NO ceramics, dishes, drinking glasses,  light bulbs, mirrors, Pyrex, window glass, or any glass that is not  a container.  
Plastic Bottles ALL
PLASTIC  BOTTLES AND JUGS (clear and colored)
  • The neck of the container must be smaller than the base or widest part.
  • Remove caps and discard.
  • Rinse. Flatten to conserve space.
  • NO bottle caps or tops; antifreeze,  pesticide, motor oil or other hazardous material containers; containers  that are not bottles, such as deli or yogurt containers, margarine tubs, or flower pots; wide-mouth prescription bottles; plastic bags of any type; plastic wrap, or  Styrofoam.

STEEL FOOD AND BEVERAGE CANS

AEROSOL CANS

  • Rinse.
  • Empty Aerosol cans and remove plastic tops 
  • NO paint cans.
   

Paper Products

(Chipboard, Junk Mail/Office Paper, Magazines, Newspaper, Telephone Books)

Paper products must be separated from glass, plastic, steel, and aluminum products. Collect paper products in a brown paper bag or use a separate bin. Do not use plastic bags, which cause contamination of recyclables.  

chipboard CHIPBOARD (cereal boxes, dry food boxes, paper towel rolls, etc.)
  • Remove plastic and foil liners.
  • NO Styrofoam egg cartons; waxed, aluminum foiled or plastic coated boxes, such as  milk, juice cartons, frozen food cartons, etc.  
junk mail JUNK MAIL & OFFICE PAPER
  • Includes envelopes, office  and notebook paper, glossy ads, etc.  
  • Shredded office paper must be bagged and tied in a clear plastic bag to prevent litter.
magazines MAGAZINES & CATALOGS
  • NO books, binders, or notebooks.  
newspaper NEWSPAPER
  • Remove from plastic bags.
phone books TELEPHONE BOOKS
  • May be recycled yearround.  
cardboard CORRUGATED CARDBOARD
  • Flatten or cut in pieces 3 x 3 feet or less. Cardboard does not need to be tied.
  • Place next to green recycling container(s).
  • NO pizza boxes or boxes with grease or food residue or packing materials.  

Cardboard Drop-Offs  cardboard boxes

In addition to curbside cardboard pick-up, you can drop-off clean, flattened corrugated cardboard at these Fire Stations, at your convenience:

NO pizza boxes, boxes with grease or food residue, or packing materials. Cardboard must be placed inside containers.  If containers are full, visit another participating Fire Station.
