For several years, the City of Winston-Salem has been a member of a regional group of municipalities called the Piedmont Triad Water Quality Partnership. Currently, there are 18 members, which means we’ve been able to pool resources to purchase television advertising, produce regional brochures at the best possible price, design & purchase watershed signs, and implement several interesting and original regional programs such as Carolina Yards and Neighborhoods.
Our latest endeavor is the creation of a new character – Lenny the Lifeguard, thanks to Planet 3 Animation and the very talented Joe Jarman. As spokesman, Lenny will address water quality issues for children of all ages. You might be able to catch Lenny’s 30-second spot on Channel 13 (WSTV 13).
In the spring, look for Lenny’s ad during children’s programming on Saturday morning and on the cartoon network. And, starting in August, a terrific 5th grade curriculum guide will be available to all teachers in Forsyth, Alamance, Guilford and Randolph Counties.
