Bike to Work Week 2008
Do you ever get tired of the daily drive to work? Would you like to be more active, and enjoy a healthier lifestyle? Or would you like to shake things up a little bit, do something new and different? Maybe you're interested in helping the environment?
Have you ever considered riding your bicycle to work?
The week of May 12 - 17, 2008, is Bike to Work Week across the country! This is a great opportunity to become a bicycle commuter.
When you ride a bike - or make room for bike riders on the road - you're helping to reduce congestion and improve air quality.
The purpose of Bike to Work week is to:
Increase awareness for cyclists on roadways;
Educate the community about the benefits of bicycling as a form of transportation (e.g. for health, the environment and traffic congestion);
Make information about bicycle commuting and bicycling safety available to potential riders; and
Encourage people to try bicycle commuting! (Source: PedPower)
