BioSolids Dryer Facility
Work on the Regional Biosolids Dewatering and Drying Facility is approximately seventy-six percent complete. Construction completion is scheduled for January 2008.
Adams Robinson, the contrator is currently working on the following: plumbing, electrical, the sludge cake system, the polymer and liquid chemical systems, piping for centrifuge #3 and other ancillary equipment associated with the conversation of bio-solids into an environmentally beneficial product.
The dryer system checkout has been completed in preparation of performance testing at the end of the year.
Work on the interplant pipeline, part of the overall Dryer Facility is nearing completion and on schedule to coordinate with the start-up of the Dryer System. These pipelines will connect the Archie Elledge and Muddy Creek WWTP allowing all biosolid production to be processed at one regional facility. EMATS Inc. has installed the pipeline between the plants. The pipeline installation is complete and the final tie-in work is underway with work scheduled to be finished by early December.
With the completion of these projects, the Utilities Division will have the long-term ability to handle its biosolids production in an environmentally sound and economical manor. (updated November 2007).
