Backflow Prevention
A “backflow” occurs when there is a clog, either between a business and a sewage main or within a sewage main in the vicinity. It is usually caused by such things as obstructions or a buildup of disposed-of material within a pipe or wastewater main.
Though no system is fail-safe, installation of a “backflow” valve, which prevents sewage from re-entering the facility, may be advisable. You should consult your plumber to determine the need for, suitability and cost of installing a replacement valve. Information about “backflow” incidents in you vicinity can be obtained by calling 650-7650.
