Process of Right of Way / Land Purchases

1. Project is approved by the Commission
2. An appraisal of the property is performed by an independent appraiser hired by the Commission
3. Commission approves the purchase or condemnation of land
4. City staff makes an offer to the property owner
5. Property owner agrees to sell or acquisition moves to condemnation procedure
   

Purchase of Property

1. Once the City has decided to purchase the property, an offer is made to the property owner based on the appraisal value of the property.
   
2. The property owner at this time can accept or decline the offer. If the owner accepts the offer, the City's Real Estate staff completes the necessary documents.
