History

The City of Winston-Salem/Forsyth County joint consolidation agreement was approved in April 1976. Pursuant to North Carolina General Statute (G.S.) 160A-462, the agreement's main goal for the Commission was to oversee the successful merger of both water and sewer systems and to make a unified joint system which was efficient in operation and costs. That goal has not changed as we continue to focus on providing public accountability while serving the needs of our customers. We strive to maintain sound professional management and to be proactive in planning for future needs.
