Urban Forestry
The Urban Forestry Program is responsible for enforcing ordinances related to trees within the city and is coordinated by the Urban Forester. The Urban Forester also coordinates the Community Roots Day (an annual project to plant trees) and provides educational presentations and information about trees to our citizens. The Urban Forester also monitors utility companies for proper work activities around trees. Finally, this position inspects all existing forest canopy within the rights-of-way, parks and city properties to determine viability, safety and work programs related to trimming.
