Marian M. Bell Appointed Sister Cities Representative Sister Cities supporter, Marian Bell, was appointed by Mayor Allen Joines to represent the Sister Cities program in Shanghai, China. Marian and her husband are moving to Shanghai and will be there several years. As the special Winston-Salem Sister Cities representative to our newest Sister Cities partner Marian will be working to cement our relationship with Shanghai. We all wish Marian good luck in her new posting.
Sister Cities International 2008 Showcase of Young Artists Sister Cities Winston-Salem again participated in the Young Artist Showcase. This year Glenn High School, Reynolds H.S., The Career Center, Paisley M.S., Northwest M.S., Hill M.S., Wiley M.S., Philo M.S., and Meadowlark M.S. participated from our local district and schools from Ungheni, Moldova and Shanghai, China our Sister Cities partners. Art work was on display in the lobby of the Bryce A. Stuart Municipal Building from December 3 through December 10, 2007.

Ms. Holly Fulton Ms. Holly Fulton's drawing was the top entrant in the City wide Young Artist Showcase. Holly's work was chosen by an independent panel of three judges as the best in the show from over 100 entries from 11 Winston-Salem City schools. Art work was judged on both creative skill and representation of this year's theme, "A Reflection of Your Community". Her work will be forwarded to the 20th Anniversary Sister Cities International Showcase of Youing Artists. All entrants from around the world will be on display at the Sister Cities International annual meeting in Kansas City in July 2008.
