Marian M. Bell, Sister Cities Representative, home again. Sister Cities supporter, Marian Bell, has returned from her stay in Shanghai where inadditon to studying Chinese and working she found time to represent the city and Mayor Allen Joines. Marian and her husband moved to Shanghai for business purposes. As the special Winston-Salem Sister Cities representative to our newest Sister Cities partner, Marian worked to cement our relationship with Shanghai. Home again, Marian is anxious to continue her work and support of Sister Cities activities.
Sister Cities International 2009 Showcase of Young Artists Sister Cities Winston-Salem again participated in the Young Artist Showcase. High school and middle schools from the city participated and entries from Ungheni, Moldova as well. Art work was on display in the lobby of the Bryce A. Stuart Municipal Building from April 6 through April 20, 2007. The exhibit closed with an awards presentation by Mayor Allen Joines on the 20th.
Ms. Holly Fulton Ms. Holly Fulton's painting was the top entrant in the citywide Young Artist Showcase. Holly's work was chosen by an independent panel of three judges as the best in the show from over 100 entries from Winston-Salem City schools. Art work was judged on both creative skill and representation of this year's theme, "Your Path to Peace." Her work will be forwarded to the Sister Cities International Showcase of Young Artists. All entrants from around the world will be on display at the Sister Cities International annual meeting.


 Mayor Allen Joines was on hand to present awards to the top place from each participating school.
