Data Sets for Download

Geographic Information Systems data (information) of City of Winston-Salem/Forsyth County is considered public records and standard GIS information is provided free of charge for download in shape file (.shp), Mr. Sid (image compressed file format), or data exchange (.dxf) formats as listed below.  The format of the data is based upon its most frequently requested format.

Datum. Data sets are in North Carolina State Plane coordinate system, North American Datum (NAD) 83, units in feet.   

Custom Requests. Upon request, the City of Winston-Salem/Forsyth County will provide digital copies of its existing data to anyone requesting it, charging for media and personnel time.  Conversion to another format will be considered a custom request and charged for accordingly.  See Custom Requests page to request special data sets or map products.
