The Emergency Management Advisory Council was created by joint resolutions adopted by the City Council on November 16, 1951, and by the Forsyth County Board of Commissioners on December 3, 1951. |
| Purpose/Function |
The purpose of the Advisory Council is to advise City and County officials on civil preparedness matters, to recommend the annual budget, and to recommend nominees to the Mayor and Chairman of the County Commissioners to fill Advisory Council vacancies. |
| Method of Appointment |
Six members are appointed by the City Council upon the recommendation of the Mayor. Six members are appointed by the Forsyth County Commissioners upon nomination by the Chairman. An ex-officio member is appointed to represent the following organizations: the City Council, Forsyth County Commissioners, Kernersville Board of Aldermen, League of Women Voters, Forsyth Northwest Chapter of the American Red Cross (Executive Director), and the Emergency Management Director. |
