The authority for establishing the Silk Plant Forest Citizens' Review Committee was created by a resolution adopted by the City Council on October 22, 2007 and amended on March 3, 2008, upon the recommendation by the Public Safety Committee. |
| Purpose/Function |
The purpose of this Committee is to conduct a comprehensive fact finding review into the Jill Marker-Silik Plant Forest cases and other related case. |
| Method of Appointment |
Nine members are appointed by the City Council upon recommendation of the Mayor. At least two members of the committee shall have legal and/or criminal justice experience. City residency is not required. |

The initial appointments shall be for a term that will expire when the review is completed. Any vacancy shall be filled only for the unexpired portion of the term. |
