| Purpose/Function |
The purpose of the Council is to give the youth an opportunity to become more aware of local government, and become involved in the community by volunteering a minimum of 15 community service hours per year. |

The City Council, upon the recommendation of the Mayor, will appoint a junior and a senior from each of the eight high schools in the system, and a junior and a senior from three of the private schools, with membership open to all interested high school students. |
