City Manager Lee Garrity today announced that Tasha Logan Ford will be joining the city staff as assistant city manager. Logan Ford, who currently serves as an assistant city manager for Rocky Mount, will assume her duties in February 2018.

"I look forward to the increased emphasis this will allow us to place on some of the City Council’s strategic priorities: affordable housing, livable neighborhoods, open space, access to healthy food, and enhanced recreational programming," he said. 

Logan Ford has more than 13 years of local government experience in North Carolina, including three and a half years as an assistant city manager for Rocky Mount, where she oversees downtown development, engineering, budget, and planning and development. Prior to that she served as assistant city manager for Goldsboro from July 2005 to May 2013. During this time she served as interim city manager for five months.

"Over the years, I have had the opportunity to work with Ms. Logan Ford on professional committees and have been thoroughly impressed by her on each occasion," Garrity said. "I'm excited that her interpersonal and managerial skills will soon be serving the citizens of Winston-Salem."

Logan Ford said, "Winston-Salem is a beautiful city that has experienced steady growth with strong leadership over the years. I’m honored to begin this new journey with the citizens and staff as we work to realize the community’s shared vision for success."

Logan Ford has a bachelor’s degree from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro and a master’s in public administration from N.C. State University. She is a graduate of the University of North Carolina School of Government Municipal Administration Course and the University of Virginia Senior Executive Institute. She is a credentialed manager by the International City/County Management Association and a past president of the N.C. City & County Management Association.

Logan Ford is married to Calvin and has one son, Caleb.  Her salary will be $156,000 annually.
