Recreation & Parks - Oct. 9, 2019
The Winston-Salem Recreation & Parks Department is holding its fourth annual "Trail of Treats" and a free screening of "Monster House" on Saturday, Oct. 19, at Bolton Park, 1590 Bolton St. Admission is free.
Trail of Treats is a Halloween-themed community resource fair for elementary-age children and their families. From 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., more than 30 information booths operated by non-profits, community and youth organizations and county agencies will be set up in the park for kids to participate in games and activities to win treats or prizes. While the kids enjoy the activities, parents or caregivers can learn about resources in the community for families with children, such as music programs, scouts and after-school programs. Children are encouraged to come in their Halloween costumes.
At 7:30 p.m. there will be a free screening of "Monster House," a 2006 animated film about three teens who discover that their neighbor's house is really a living, breathing, scary monster. The movie is rated PG.
Food trucks will be set up around the park. For more information contact Greg James at 336-734-1210 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
