Derwick Paige, Assistant City Manager

Derwick received a B.S. degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a M.P.A. from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. Derwick also is a 1998 graduate of the Municipal Administration program and a 2006 graduate of the Public Executive Leadership Academy, both sponsored by the School of Government at the University of North Carolina.

He joined the city in 1984 as a public safety officer. He also has served as a planner, minority- and women-owned business enterprise coordinator, budget analyst, special development administrator, director of enterprise community development, development director, community and economic development director, and assistant city manager. 

As assistant city manager, Derwick is responsible for overseeing the following departments: Business Inclusion & Advancement, Community Assistance, Emergency Management, Fire, Human Relations and Police.

Derwick is a member of the International City/County Management Association (ICMA) and the North Carolina City/County Management Association. He currently serves on the Piedmont Triad Regional Development Corporation Executive Board, and UNCG MPA Advisory Board.
