The National Weather Service and the Forsyth County Office of Emergency Management are sponsoring SKYWARN Severe Weather Spotter Training Monday, Feb. 22, from 10 a.m. to noon in Eisenberg Hall on the campus of the University of North Carolina School of the Arts, 1533 S. Main St., Winston-Salem.
The class will include how and why buildings fail in high winds; thunderstorm development and severity; recognizing storm and cloud elements; anticipating storm motions, intensity and severity based on cloud structure; and lightning dynamics and threats.
