Cloverdale Avenue Area Improvements

This project provides for installation of pedestrian improvements in the Cloverdale Avenue area. The improvements are based on recommendations of the "Cloverdale Avenue Pedestrian and Bicycle Study", completed by the Winston Salem Department of Transportation in 2010.

Cloverdale Avenue Pedestrian and Bicycle Study [pdf]

This project improves pedestrian safety and minimizes the negative effects that vehicular traffic has on pedestrian movements. The work to be performed is located between Oakwood Drive and just east of Melrose Street and includes the following: addition of crosswalks, the installation of new sidewalks, the reconfiguration of Cloverdale Avenue's intersections with Oakwood Drive, Magnolia Street, and Melrose Street, an elevated pedestrian crossing at Highland Presbyterian Church and reconstruction of pavement for Cloverdale Avenue from Oakwood Drive to Miller Street and Melrose Street from Cloverdale Avenue to Westover Drive. These improvements are proposed along Cloverdale Avenue and Melrose Street.

Construction of this project is now complete.
