To Local Community Partners:
Each year, the Winston-Salem Human Relations Commission awards one male and one female the Martin Luther King, Jr. Young Dreamer Award in celebration of Martin Luther King, Jr. Day. Awardees are recognized at a Winston-Salem City Council meeting and given an honorary plaque.
I invite you to submit deserving individuals’ names for consideration by November 15, 2013. Individuals and organizations submit nominations for those they believe exhibit the principles of Dr. King, including social justice, community harmony, and fairness. Nominees can be of any background and work for equality and justice for any group of society.

Specific examples of activities include fostering positive race relations, vocalizing or acting against an injustice, leading inclusiveness amongst individuals, embracing those who are perceived as different, and celebrating religious diversity.
